Recently I did an experiment on myself.
I wanted to learn this topic but quit too soon a few times in the past.
So, I signed up for two paid courses to see whether whether paying a significantly
large amount would motivate me to stay committed to learning by seeking value for the paid amount.
Doing two rigorous semester-long courses, with no in-person support and familiarity in addition to a full-time job was intense.
There were times I had enough good reasons to quit, but somehow I did not.
It worked! This exercise forced me to prioritize every day well.
Research indicates commitment devices could help people improve their behaviors.
I have working experience in software engineering and natural language processing research.
I studied computer science and electrical engineering in college and recently developed an interest in economics.
